The Founder
Shadow Work Studio was created by Michele Paull, a symbolic architect and the founder of the Symbolic Identity Method™ (SIM) — a diagnostic system designed to reveal the deeper architecture beneath a person’s patterns, choices, and becoming.
Michele’s first degree was in Commercial Photography, and she spent her early career working as a freelance photographer and digital artist, exhibiting work in galleries and publications. Even then, she was drawn to the deeper architecture beneath an image — the pattern, the posture, the story it revealed. That same instinct eventually extended to people. She was always split between two worlds: understanding human beings at depth, and creating art that revealed what couldn’t be spoken.
Over time, those two threads converged. The way she once read light, composition, and symbolic form became the way she now reads identity — through pattern, structure, and movement.
She later completed her Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and began doctoral research in transpersonal psychology. Her background spans creative arts therapies, somatic facilitation, ritual design, and symbolic analysis. Over years of practice, her clinical training, creative lineage, and lived thresholds converged into the Symbolic Identity Method™ — a contemporary identity‑mapping system for regulated, self‑aware adults who want to understand who they are becoming.
The Lineage
Michele’s work draws from Jungian shadow theory, mythic structure, and transpersonal inquiry — but it is not defined by any single lineage. SIM emerged from the integration of depth psychology, symbolic systems, and contemporary identity theory, forming a way of seeing identity through pattern, pressure, and symbolic architecture rather than traits or labels.
Her method is shaped by years of studying how people move through thresholds — how meaning reorganizes itself, how patterns repeat, and how identity reforms under internal and external pressure. SIM’s lineage includes depth psychology, symbolic analysis, creative arts therapies, somatic and ritual practices, developmental theory, and contemporary identity research.
This synthesis created a method that is neither clinical nor creative, but something distinct: a symbolic, developmental approach for people who sense that something in their life, identity, or inner world is shifting, and who want to meet that shift with clarity, honesty, and sovereignty.
The Studio
Shadow Work Studio is not a clinic or a coaching practice. It is a prestige sanctuary for symbolic inquiry — a place where longing becomes language, and where transformation begins with a single, chosen yes.
The Studio is intentionally built around the written word. This format creates space instead of pressure, depth without performance, and clarity without overwhelm. Every offering inside the Studio is designed to meet you in a regulated, reflective state, allowing you to move at your own pace while engaging with the deeper architecture of your identity.
This is a space for those who sense an inner shift — a threshold, a reorientation, a quiet becoming — and want to meet that movement with precision, honesty, and sovereignty. The Studio holds the full ecosystem of SIM and its companion modalities, each crafted to support a different dimension of your unfolding.
The Method
The Symbolic Identity Method™ (SIM) is a contemporary identity‑mapping system that reveals the deeper architecture beneath your patterns, choices, and becoming. It is a symbolic, developmental approach that makes the structure of your identity visible — the pressures shaping you, the posture you’re inhabiting, and the patterns driving your responses.
The first tier of SIM, and the entry point into the method, is SIM Mapping. Mapping shows where you are today: how your current world shapes you, how you respond to internal and external pressure, and what identity architecture is preparing to come online. It is a handcrafted diagnostic that offers clarity before movement — a way to meet your next threshold with precision and sovereignty.
SIM is not therapy, coaching, or personality typing. It is a symbolic framework for understanding identity in real time, designed for regulated, self‑aware adults who want to understand who they are becoming.
